The book, The writings in your palm, is a very simple story. It depicts the life and experience of a Nigerian graduate-the struggle and challenges she encountered in search of a job. She came from a poor background and her parent’s hope is for her to land a great job and take the family out of poverty.
The story narrates how she travelled to Abuja the nation’s capital thinking that it will be easier for her to grab a good job but instead she was greatly disappointed.
Simple and easy to understand, the story show the daily struggle she faced coupled with accommodation problem. Also how some employers took advantage of the situation to manipulate job seekers.
The story concludes with the protagonist getting a job through divine providence when she had already lost hope.
The language is simple, modern English mixed with pidgin English. It is a direct language which can be understood by everybody.
